Momentary Mass

An interactive media project that unfolds in a physical space and its virtual extension. This work combines the possibilities of new performative media and interactive technologies within the framework of a participatory situation.

Technologies used: Live streaming, X-SENS motion capture technique in both physical and virtual spaces, and analog engagement strategies such as spatial dramaturgy and object manipulation.

The physical space and analog gestures that move people create a passage between perceived and imagined phenomena. The puppet, equipped with motion sensors, exists as an extremely sensitive yet helpless body in multiple realities.

The work Momentary Mass explores the passage of the unconscious, the sick, the insane, and the crowd moving around them, transitioning from gravity to fiction.

LIMINAL SELF
Research Project 2023

A methodological research conducted within the framework of the Ismeretlen Kutatása Program by the Műhely Foundation, supported by the Media Design program at MOME. The research took place in the dance studios of the Műhely Foundation as well as the workshops of MOME and the Media Design department, collaborating with dancers and Media Design students. The aim was to initiate a discourse between creators and performers. Our broader research theme focused on virtual reality, the new types of perception offered by immersive spaces, spatial awareness, and the exploration of participatory performances and methodological possibilities.

In the  reviously created VR spaces, we experimented with the intersection of bodily sensations, touch, smell, and balance.

The above documentation shows the participants' drawn and written feedback.
