What are you doing?
A project about archiving a somatic practice

Through the BMC (Body-Mind Centering) technique, the practice involves the perception of internal organs, and a 3D animation and 3D printed sculpture were created from a 3D scan made during the practice. Both of us created textures experienced during the practice in Blender, which I later animated. From the 3D printed sculptures, we created an edible installation.

Emerging bodies
Research Project
2022

During the six-month residency, creative programmers, media artists, choreographers, and dancers collaborated on experimental projects through methodological research. These projects utilized tools such as motion capture (Rokoko), Magicleap glasses (augmented reality), Kinect, sensors, and images and sounds generated by artificial intelligence.

EMERGING BODY is an experimental project based on motion capture techniques. The goal of the research is to observe the possibilities and limitations of organic and virtual states. Our individual and collective identities are increasingly made up of physical and virtual layers. Using bodies as virtual extensions, we explored the theme of multiple identities as multisensory organic and virtual units. Through somatic practices and movement studies, we sought connections with other collective bodies. This shared body constantly changes and transforms: a multi-layered, fluid, virtual-organic being, which we represented through choreography and 3D animation.

We presented our research in the form of a four-day open event at the Dock11 / Dock Digital Lab in Berlin.
